WSI is the #1 Internet Business Franchise
As a local office of WSI, the world's largest Internet consulting firm, we are particularly proud of the recent announcement that WSI has been ranked the #1 Internet Business Franchise for the 9th year in a row by Entrepreneur Magazine!
I blogged about this in December and now it's even more timely, but the current economy is the perfect storm for franchise sales. Our office will be representing the WSI community at a franchise show in Columbus, Ohio on February 21st and 22nd; more information to come in a later post. Whatever your interests may be... now is an ideal time to take a look at and owning your franchise - so stay tuned.
Detailed information about the WSI franchise opportunity can be found on the Entrepreneur website. If you are interested in learning more about a WSI franchise, please contact us directly at 330.702.8088.

30% of Leisure Time Spent Online
According to TNS Global, the US ranks 5th worldwide for the amount of time Internet users spend browsing the Internet. Adults in America spent 30% of their leisure time online in 2008, up from 2007. This number is expected to continue to climb in 2009, as many of those unemployed will use the Internet to search for new jobs or obtain additional training/education.

Ahh, the market the Internet commands.

The Numbers Are Coming In...
While the numbers are still coming in, it’s safe to say that online retailers didn’t see the type of growth this holiday season that they were hoping for. comScore states that online sales were down this year; shopping from November 1 through December 23 was 3% lower than last year.
Although many of you may think this is a bad thing, online sales are continuing to rise on an annual basis.

Despite the fact that consumers did not purchase as much online this year as they did last year, they were still browsing. Consumers used the Internet as a research tool comparing prices and learning more about special offers and coupons. Niche sites with specialized products were also very popular this season.
